Introduction
The UPVD offers courses lasting one semester open to all students of all levels – from beginner through to advanced (A1-C2). Our courses run throughout the year and are for anyone interested in starting French from scratch or perfecting their skills. Our intermediate and advanced courses combine general French language classes and themed workshops. Each course leads to a University Diploma awarded in recognition of the level of study achieved.

Our courses are designed to help our foreign students improve their oral and written communication skills, reinforce vocabulary and grammatical points, develop their knowledge of French culture and civilization, and introduce them to different subject areas. We support our students so that, following their training, they can go on to higher education and/or enter the professional world in France.
They will help you :- Improve oral and written communication skills.
- Increase vocabulary and knowledge of grammar
- Expand knowledge of French culture and civilisation
- Introduction to different disciplinary fields
You can register for DELF, DALF and TCF exam sessions throughout the year. These exams are internationally recognized, and can help their holders to enter higher education, find a job or obtain French nationality.
TCF diplomas are valid for two years.
DELF/DALF diplomas are valid for life. - Course organization

- DUEF A1 & DUEF A2 : General french
- DUEF B1.1 & DUEF B1.2 : General french +1 (B1.1) ou 2 (B1.2) common thematic courses
- DUEF B2 : General french + a course to choose from (Language and Culture ou French on Academic Purposes)
- DUEF C1 & DUEF C2 : General french + a course to choose from (Language and Culture ou French on Academic Purposes)
Course 1- Language and culture (2 courses) :- French through images and audiovisual medias (B1.2, B2, C1, C2) : analysis of social facts through medias and cinema
- French through the press and media (B2, C1, C2) : French society through the news
Course 2- Academic Purposes (2 courses) :
- Academic culture and methodology (B2/C1/C2)
- Specialized teaching in a university component
Number of hours :
- For levels A1 and A2 : 220 hours of lessons divided into 20 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
- Pour les niveaux B1.1 à C2 : 242 hours of lessons divided into 22 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
A positioning test will be conducted during the first week to gauge your level and determine which group you should go in. To facilitate student learning, our classes are made up of a maximum of 18 students in A1 and 24 for other levels.
There will be 11 weeks of lessons and one week of remedial classes. Knowledge will be tested throughout the course; lesson attendance is therefore compulsory. - Control and knowledge procedures

Our modules allows you to organize your free time and attend to the classes you are interested in. These courses can be adapted to your needs and availabilities. Therefore, you can improve your french at your convinience.
